Project Context & Acoustic Challenge

Shared benching systems in collaborative open-plan offices often present acoustic boundary issues, where lower-register conversation and typing noise travel unobstructed across smoothly laminated long desk surfaces. Rigid, permanent visual partitions clutter the clean desktop layout and block power module access, while basic acoustic dividers fail to dampen localized direct-reflection sound right at the work surface level.

Engineered Solution & Design

To establish a subtle visual separator and absorb desktop-level sound reflection, the shared table was configured with a terracotta-orange PET acoustic desk divider. Featuring hot-embossed horizontal linear grooves, the screen’s molded channels disrupt planar sound travel while adding structured aesthetic rhythm. The panel is supported by low-profile, powder-coated white metal feet that rest neatly on the tabletop, leaving adjacent integrated cable grommets completely unobstructed for seamless wire management.

Performance & Compliance

Engineered with a dense, heat-molded PET core and radius-cut outer corners, the panel delivers a high NRC 0.85 sound absorption performance without structural sagging over time. The sealed, smooth-pressed perimeter edge prevents fraying from daily arm movement and sleeve friction. Fully compliant with ASTM E84 Class A fire-safety and low-VOC standards, the heavy-gauge metal base feet feature non-skid, surface-protective pads that hold the barrier rigid without drilling or permanent adhesive.
